Nicky’s career started as a musician playing in bands and touring the world. He was a Spider From Mars with David Bowie before finally getting a ‘proper’ job in the music business.

Nicky then began a successful career as Staff Producer/A&R Manager first at Polydor Records, then a 10 year run at CBS Records where he worked with, among others, The Nolans, David Essex, Barbara Dickson and Bonnie Tyler. Throughout this period he continued to write songs and started his own publishing company. In 1984 he went freelance, producing and writing albums for such varied artists as Andy Williams (USA), Pedrito Fernandez (Mexico) and Matt Moffitt (Australia). In 1986 he discovered BROS for whom he wrote When Will I Be Famous,

the No 1 single, I Owe You Nothing and two albums which sold over five million copies. All of the BROS singles were multi-platinum world-wide.

More successes were Let Loose, whose single Crazy for You was double platinum. Nicky also discovered and launched the careers of Ant and Dec for whom he wrote and produced their platinum selling Psyche album, including the hit singles Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble and Eternal Love amongst others.

Nicky has also been involved in the careers of Darius (Pop Idol) and Sinead Quinn (Fame Academy), publishing No 1 single Colourblind and No 2 single I Can’t Breakdown. As a producer he is still very active having produced the latest album by Shakin’ Stevens - to be released mid-2007 - and most recently, as a Writer/Producer, he has worked with Julio Iglesias on his first English album in 15 years.

Nicky has served the pop writing community on the PRS Board since September 1995 and serves on a number of PRS Committees as well as the PRS Members’ Fund and its Finance Committee.
